The SmarTrack S5 D-iD is a Thatcham S5 vehicle tracking system with smartphone-based Driver Identification (D-iD). Instead of carrying a separate driver recognition tag, your smartphone can be used to identify you as an authorised driver through the GTE Track app.
Designed for vehicles where insurance-approved tracking is required, the SmarTrack S5 D-iD provides live vehicle location information, movement alerts, battery alerts and 24/7 monitoring through the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre.

Smartphone Driver Identification with D-iD
One of the main features of the SmarTrack S5 D-iD is its smartphone-based Driver Identification system.
Once D-iD is activated, your smartphone works as your driver recognition device. You don't need to remember to carry a separate driver ID tag every time you use the vehicle.
When the vehicle is moved, the system can identify whether the authorised D-iD device is present. If the vehicle is being moved without the authorised driver recognition active, an alert can be sent through the system so the situation can be checked by the monitoring centre.

Thatcham S5 Vehicle Tracking
The SmarTrack S5 D-iD is Thatcham Category S5 security certified and provides an insurance-recognised vehicle tracking system.
The tracker uses GPS, GLONASS, GPRS and GSM technologies to determine and communicate the vehicle's location. An internal battery backup helps keep the system operational if the vehicle's main power supply is disconnected.
The system also monitors vehicle and tracker activity, helping identify events such as movement, battery disconnection and low battery voltage.
24/7 Monitoring by Global Telemetrics
The SmarTrack S5 D-iD is connected to the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre, which provides 24/7 monitoring.
If an alert is generated, the monitoring centre can contact you to establish whether the vehicle movement or security event is authorised. Global Telemetrics states that its Secure Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This monitoring service is an important part of an S5 tracking system and requires an active subscription.
Track Your Vehicle Using the GTE App
The GTE Track app allows you to access your vehicle's tracking information from your smartphone.
